Nagore is a small town along the sea shore of  Bay of Bengal in Nagapattinam, TamilNadu, India.  Nagore is famous for the Dargah of Hazrat Syed Shahul Hamid kaderi chisty also popularly knows as Kadervali.  Nagore dargah attracts Thousands of devotees through out the year. Reaching Nagore:

Nagore is well connected to all the major cities and Towns in Tamilnadu and also connected to cities in kerala, Andra pradesh and Karnataka.

By Bus:  Nagore is approximately 5 kms from Nagapattinam bus stand. But all the buses stop in Nagore.  SETC  operates round the clock bus services to Nagore whereas private bus operators start the service from evening only. A couple of  private services are there during noon time (1pm) also.

Chennai to Nagore: 330 kms.

Travel time :  7hrs

One can take SETC bus from Koyembedu Bus  Stand  going to  Nagapattinam or Velankanni which stops at Nagore.

Some of the popular private services which are plying on the Chennai – Nagapattinam route are Rathimeena &Universal.  The boarding point for these buses is Koyembedu Omin Bus stand.

Bangalore to Nagore: 430kms

Travel time : 9hrs.

Some of the private buses which operate from Bangalore to Nagapattinam are KPN and Universal travels.

 

 

 

 

 

Kasmur though a small village has plenty of  lodges and rooms which can accommodate thousands of devotees.  Unlike other lodges where the check in – check out is 24 hrs, In Kasmur the check in -check out is for 14 -16 hrs. ( Evening 4.00pm to Morning 11.am) but it all depends on the demand and is flexible, the same applies to the room rents also.  The rooms are easily available throughout the year except some important days where even a price of small room  shoots-up to  peak.

The following are the important days in Kasmur:

  • Sandal-Urs (Annual Urs of Hazrat kalasha mastan) 5days
  • Kambal fatheya – 2 days (Annual festival)
  • Amavasaya 1 night (Monthly)
  • Moharram – during Aashura 10th Muharram ( yearly)

Price range of rooms

Starts with Rs.150 to Rs.800 (will have TV and air conditioner) per day.

Most of the rooms will not have a bed but one can get a Cot or Mat and pillows on a rental basis from the lodge owner. This is exemption for rooms above Rs.500.

Suggestions:

Very few lodges have generators for power-backup to cope up with regular power-breaks, so look for those lodges if possible.

Look for rooms with double bed-room.

Try to  bargain before you agree the rent.

Kasmur  is situated in the Indian state of Andra Pradesh is famous for the dargah of  great saint Hazrat Syed Karimullah Shah Quadri (Rahmatullah Alai) popularly known as Kale Shah Peer Mastan Wali Baba.  Kasmur is located 10 kms from Venkatachalam Railway Station and 25 kms from Nellore city.

Kasmur is easily accessible via road and rail.

By Train:

Nearest railway stations :

  • Nellore Rail Station (All major trains stop here)
  • Venkatachalam Rail station (only sub-urban trains stop here)
  • Gudur Junction Rail station ( All major trains stop here)

Venkatachalam is the nearest rail station (10 km)but only sub-urban/Unit trains stop here.  So Nellore is the nearest main railway station(25km)  where all  major trains halt  for atleast 5 mins. One can get a bus from Nellore bus stand to Kasmur directly but due to low frequency of direct buses to kasmur, its advisable to board a bus going  via Gudur and get down in Venkatachalam bus stop which is approximately 10 km  from Nellore.  From Venkatachalam one can easily get a share auto or bus to reach kasmur and the travelling time is 15 & 20 mins. respectively.

One can also get down in Gudur Junction and can travel back to Venkatachalam bus stop which is 20 km from Gudur.

Nellore Rail Station — 3km —-> Nellore Bus Stand— 13km —>Venkatachalam–10km—-Kasmur

By Bus:

Nearest Bus Stand :  Nellore Bus Stand is the nearest one, but those who are coming from Chennai can alight at Venkatachalam Bus stop and reach kasmur as mentioned above. Distance between Chennai to Kasmur is 175 km and the travelling time is 4hrs maximum. Every 30 -45 mins a APSRT bus leaves to Nellore from Chennai CMBT.  Apart from the regular buses there are also few express point to point buses which reaches the destination in 3 hrs. please check these timings from CMBT.

By Car:

One has to take NH 5  to reach kasmur,  those who are proceeding towards Nellore take the service lane after crossing Nellore (Venkatachalam) Toll Plaza and for those who are proceeding towards Chennai can make a U-turn just before the Nellore Toll Plaza and take the service lane mentioned above. From there take first left to reach kasmur road which opens with two Arches welcoming you to kasmur from there a straight drive of  8 km with a couple of  sharp curves will take you to Kasmur village.
